Now doesn’t this sound like a dream. It doesn’t matter if you’re traveling solo; with your partner, with your own family, with your extended family, with friends… the list could go on, but we’ll stop it there.
What we’re trying to say, is that it doesn’t matter who you’re travelling with, there’s always the chance of drama along the way.

Although we always look forward to potentially the only holiday we’ll have in the year, it doesn’t take that stress away when things start to go wrong. But for all of you reading this, you’re most likely travelling most often, with your little clan in tow.
It’s so good to create these memories with them, no matter how old your children are. But travelling with your children creates a new sense of panic.
Before, it would seem all you had to worry about was whether you had your phone and passport. Now, that worry list is far longer than that when you have children with you, and hitch after hitch can easily come your way.
So this year, if you still have your family holiday to come, we’re going to try and help you to make the process as smooth as possible, because there might be a few areas that you’re seriously going wrong in! So keep on reading to find out more.
Picking The Wrong Location
Now this is one of the number one mistakes that families around the world are making. It’s so easy to pick a destination that you love the look of, without actually checking out what it’s going to be like.
So some people are heading off to tropical countries, that have climates that are most definitely not suitable for young children.
Some places are so hot, that children have to spend most of their time inside or in the shade, as even for you adults it might be a little unbearable. But we know that sometimes the tropical locations can lure you in, so just think about the time of the year that you’re going.
Some tropical places have climates that work at different times to ours, so you could go when it’s heading towards their winter season, just to experience slightly cooler weather. Although it won’t be cold, it will be the perfect temperature for you to catch your rays, as well as allowing the kids to spend most of the day outside.
You also need to make sure you’re going to a hotel geared towards families. A kids club, and a good pool with maybe a cheeky waterslide or two is essential.
Forgetting Essential Items
There are definitely some essentials that we all forget to pack, no matter who we’re going on holiday with.
So, when you go to a different country, one of the first things that you notice is the array of different bugs that you’re not used to. The worst is mosquitos and other things that like to sting and bite you.
The one thing people always seem to remember to pack, is the bite and sting prevention sprays. But what about when you do get bitten or stung? You’re left furiously scratching, to the point where it may even become infected.
Your kids especially need to have something to soothe them if they are affected. Products such as stingose gel could be the answer to all of your problems. Rather being that prevention, they’re going to be that soothing layer that should take all of that irritation away! It’s essentials like these that you really need to have in your suitcase!
Keeping It Too Adult Focused
This is one thing that a lot of parents make the mistake of doing. You will most likely have memories of family holidays yourself as a child, where you would kick and scream because you weren’t doing what you wanted to do, you were being taken on some excursion that took you away from your pool time.
So rather than focusing on what you want to do, you have to think about what your kids are going to enjoy. You can still have family fun, it just means that maybe boat trips and car tours are out of the equation until they’re older.
The biggest hitch people have is child meltdowns, but it can easily be avoided by keeping family fun high, doing things your kids can actually get involved in!
Keeping Arguments At Bay
Arguments between you and your partner are bound to happen, but to keep them at bay, we definitely recommend having some romantic times.
You could put the kids in the kids club for an hour, and go and get a couples massage. Or, if you do want to go and do an excursion that wouldn’t suit them, they could spend an afternoon in the club whilst you go out.
Half of the time you’re arguing because you’re not relaxing together, but that’s so essential on holiday!.
