A lot of people underestimate just how important their garden space is. This is the part of your home that most people will notice first. And, you know what they say; you do not get a second chance to make a first impression!
One of the best things you can do for your garden is create a decked area. This will add style while also creating a place to socialise too. With that being said, read on to discover more about some of the different trends you can go for.
One of the best things to do with decking is play around with the different levels. By adding a platform you are obviously adding height and this plays around with the dimensions of your garden space. It can, in fact, make your outside area look a lot bigger. Moreover, when the patio is raised it is a lot more distinct and therefore it will become a statement piece in your garden.
Remember you don’t have to have a raised platform with small steps leading up to it. You can opt for the equivalent of three patio areas for example; starting from smallest to biggest as the platform rises for each one.
Aside from going for a raised level, you can also turn your decking area into a place for relaxation and comfort. The best way to do this is through having a shaded decking area. There are lots of ways you can do this, yet folding arm awnings are great. You can then finish off the area with lots of cushions and low-level lighting. This will create a really snug and cosy effect.
A lot of people tend to assume that all decking has to be straight edged. Rectangular and square patio areas tend to be the most widely utilised options by a clear mile. Nevertheless, why not opt for a different shape? A circular decking area is widely underutilised. Not only this, but you could go for something more intriguing, such as a hexagon shape.
Furthermore, another highly stylish and popular option is to use decking lighting. This looks extremely luxurious and glamorous once the night falls. A great suggestion is to lace the edges of the decking areas with small spotlights.
And last but not least, why not consider having a decked path? Most people tend to go for stone pathways in their garden area. Nevertheless, if you have a decking area, then why not have a decked path leading up to it? This is a lot more striking than stone because of the warm, vivid, and inviting colour of the wood.
If you don’t have decking in your garden at present then this is something you should certainly give a lot of deliberation to. It will upgrade the look of your garden as well as the property of your home. Use the garden decking ideas mentioned in this article in order to help you with ideas and inspiration for your very own outside area.
