In the Southern Hemisphere it is starting to get cold, particularly where I hail from, Melbourne Australia. We are experiencing 4 degree days with rain and it’s only the first day of winter.

I don’t know about you, but I actually really enjoy winter. Sure, I do the obligatory whinging about being freezing but being the homebody that I am, I love any excuse to stay home in my trackie pants, woollen socks and dressing gown.
The rare times that I’m not busy being mummy to my 4 darlings, there is nothing I enjoy more than curling up with a good book.
The good thing about reading is that you can do it anywhere. The people of the northern hemisphere can do it whilst enjoying the afternoon sun or lying by a pool and us Mexicans who are ‘south of the border’ can enjoy reading whilst layering up against the cold.
I have been researching the top 10 books for mums/moms and this is the list I have compiled:
The Power of Unexpected Miracles
This book was written by a very good friend of mine Beth Elkassih. I was lucky enough to read this book before it was released and let me tell you that once I started, I couldn’t stop. I was so drawn in by the story that I had to read it all in one sitting. I definitely give it 5 stars.
The Unexpected Power of Miracles will take you on a path of divine wisdom and healing for your body, mind, and spirit, especially for all the Mother’s around the globe who are or has suffered from depression after giving birth to a Woman most precious gift.
Reading this book with take you on a deep journey to tap into your Power of unexpected miracles and to live a life of joy and victory. This book is dedicated to help you realize how ‘amazing’ you truly are and your purpose in life. More importantly, to believe or renew your belief in God and Divine Intervention. We all have the Power right inside of us to live, to harvest, to blossom, so let’s heal together. Are you ready for your victory of miracles? Your time is NOW!”

Full of warmth and wisdom, The Year that Changed Everything by Cathy Kelly is a story about finding happiness on your own terms.
Meet Ginger, Sam and Callie. They all share the same birthday and their milestone birthdays mark the start of a year the will change everything. Ginger isn’t spending her 30th the way she planned and it might be the first day of the rest of her life, or a total disaster. Sam is finally pregnant after years of trying but when her waters break on the morning of her 40th birthday she starts to panic about becoming a mother. Myself and Hugh . . .
We’re taking a break.’
A city-with-fancy-food sort of break?’
If only.Amy’s husband Hugh says he isn’t leaving her.He still loves her, he’s just taking a break – from their marriage, their children and, most of all, from their life together. Six months to lose himself in south-east Asia. And there is nothing Amy can say or do about it.
Yes, it’s a mid-life crisis, but let’s be clear- a break isn’t a break up – yet . . .However, for Amy it’s enough to send her – along with her extended family of gossips, misfits and troublemakers – teetering over the edge.
For a lot can happen in six-months. When Hugh returns if he returns, will he be the same man she married? And will Amy be the same woman?
Because if Hugh is on a break from their marriage, then isn’t she?
The Break isn’t a story about falling in love but about staying in love. It is Marian Keyes at her funniest, wisest and brilliant best.
